A Long Line Tunic with Scottish Influence
featuring a Scottish Lass dancing to music provided by a Scottish Piper, incorporating thistle borders
Written for Standard gauge knitting machines with a minimum of 24 stitches patterning capability.

The sample garment was knitted in 2 colour fairisle, then surface treated with Swiss darning to introduce extra colour,
which is so easy to do and so satisfying the result. However, the designs are quite acceptable without the additional colour.
I used a random dyed yarn for the thistle blossom, which looked realistic due to the changing tones of similar colours.
If a darker background colour is used then one may wish to consider introducing further colour by using fabric paints.
This too, is a very satisfying form of embellishment.
Templates are included for easy and quick transferrence of the motifs to punch cards.
